drink, drank, drunk
I got white wine, and i find it not really nice. So subconsciously i was trying to finish it real quick so that i wont be wasting it. That sort of explained what happened next. I started to feel weird. it's as if all my sensory nerves started not to function (i wont go into how achohol acts as an inhibitor or sth sth which sort of affects the action potential generated along the nerves and not enough electrical signals to stimulate the brain...simply because i dont know anything abt it...). I got to point when i cant even feel myself touching my cheeks. I thought i am just too tired or sth. Then only then it struck me that i was drunk...lol
I started to drink juice(two glasses), water(one glass), soda(one glass) thinking i can dilute the achohol. But i suppose it's too late. So, what happened? Nothing much. I didnt go around punching people or swearing, killing people or puking all over the place. I maintained my cool just sitting there. My face glowing red, my pulse increasing to over 150 per minute, my balance lost, my brain in sleeping mode. That's pretty much.
So, the lesson is:
-dont drink alchohol
-dont drink alchohol at one go
-dont drink alchohol...i cant stress that enough
-i m not a lousy drinker ok...i just drank too fast
-dont be greedy
Ok i'll end here. I need to sleep now. I'll update if i have hangover tomoro...hehe

mi mama
>>百善孝为先>>
My mom’s from KL. She lived quite a poor life. I remember she used to tell us how hard her life was. Every morning she had to wake up super early to go out to my grandma’s stall to sell food- porridge, noodle…(To tell you the truth I really don’t know much about her life when she was young, I guess I am just too ignorant or maybe I just never really cared)
>>哀哀父母为我拘劳>>
Fast forwarding to now, as in after I was born. Well, as I spent most of the time at home (call me boring or lifeless..watever), I really grew close to my mum especially when I was in Form 1 and 2 (which were in the evening session). When I am bored I would go to the kitchen (when she is in the kitchen obviously), to look at her cooking (I guess that’s why I can cook quite well now…hehe) and talk to her. Talk about what? I don’t know, just anything, can’t really remember. We used to subscribe Reader’s Digest and when she read a very funny joke she would share with me (and even though I finished reading the whole book a few weeks ago when it just arrived, I would just laugh). Sometimes, when I finished my tuition (yes, I also went to tuition) in the morning at around 10am, she would pick me up and go out for breakfast. I know that’s nothing much but I sort of started to miss it ever since I started form 3 which is in morning.

Last year, I came to Perth. First time without her (for a really long length of time) was quite ok though- she taught me almost everything before I came, I would also ask her if I had any big unsolvable problems. But doing everything on my own was hard work. I think you all know what I mean. I even tried cooking for a whole bunch of people (which stopped after a week I think?). I felt really tired and helpless (and annoyed by the amount of work that I had to do myself). Imagine her doing it everyday without fail for five of us in the family who never really offered a lot of help (I did sometimes when I was talking to her) and still maintaining the high-standard and healthy home-cooked meals without complain or grudge.
>>树欲静而风不止,子欲养而亲不在 >>
Reading someone’s blog really made me thinking. I really can’t afford to lose her. Especially not before I can repay what she had done all these years for me. I don’t even dare what will happen if I were to lose her (choi choi choi)…anyways, I will just end my post with how I would normally start every call I made every week…

and this weekend I am going to add this:

All roads lead to Rome
I have been preparing for this race for the past few years of my teenage life. A race to see who can reach Rome as fast as possible and as safe as possible. The rule? You cannot turn back and start again. I have been trying hard to choose which road to follow in order to win this race. Others seemed to have chosen the route of their own long time ago. But why haven’t I? I tried to look as far down the road as I possible as I could but I can only look that far. I did all the research to help me decide but is it enough? Should I cut through the desert and risk dehydration? Or maybe through the sea and risk drowning? Too much choices but just which one is for me? All roads lead to Rome. There’s hundreds of them. Why does it have to be like that? Why can’t there be just one road or maybe a predestined one? Why do we have to give ourselves a hard time being spoilt for choices? Isn’t it just easier if there is a straight lane without any turns or junctions, built specially for every one of us, just waiting for us to use it when the time is right?
A lot of considerations but still no decision yet.
Time is really running short. Everyone in the race has gotten ready on their road just waiting for the time to come. But I am still deciding. Maybe I should just take the plane. Yes…but what airline? Departing from? Transiting in? Is it safe? What about the service? More stuff that needs to be considered.
The night before the race something popped into my mind. All roads lead to Rome. Yes…ALL roads lead to Rome. No matter what road I take I will still get to Rome. Maybe I shouldn’t be focusing on winning but on the journey itself. It is impossible to plan my road and hope that it will go according as planned. What if a bridge on the way collapsed? Or maybe an earthquake tore the road apart? Maybe that is what turns and junctions are for. For you to change your plans if anything goes wrong. Perhaps if everything is prearranged, no miracles would happen. Roads would not have intersected as all the roads will just be parallel, just like racing tracks. If there’s an obstacle ahead, you can’t cut into other people’s lane and if you can’t overcome the obstacle, you’re doomed.
Maybe I shouldn’t treat it as a race to Rome but small races to Bangkok, then to New Delhi, and Dubai and finally to Rome. Maybe I just don’t dare to make a choice for the fear that I will regret. I’ll just have to make it memorable instead of regrettable. It’s up to me to decide how I should think about this race. Worrying is inevitable but there are other participants too in the race. They will help me if I am in trouble, hopefully. So, so what if I have chosen the worst road to go to Rome? It’s up to me to change it or maybe just be more prepared for it. All I can do is just pray for the best and stay strong.
I am ready for my race now. Are you?
this doesnt go to rome..

1630-1815
看菜单看了老半天后,点了一盘kafta in tray(有饭、茄汁肉丸加番薯和沙拉)。 问了价钱后(吓了一跳),不惜买下了baklava(honey+cashew饼)。 吃下baklava,我第一个想起的东西是peanut kuih(忘了叫什么-是不是kuih kochi还是apam balik?)。

Of holiday, pachelbel and cats
- changed room and my room is currently in a ‘war-torn’ status
- paid the telephone bill
- did my first aid course and got a certificate... quite enjoyed it (but i m still wondering why would you want to lie down a person with injured eye...shouldn't it be elevated?)
- was going to apply for tax file number and working permit but failed
- had some fun with (housemate’s) Wii and Heroes(not the tv series) but seriously distracted me from my work
- got my textbooks from s’pore and my handphone (I lost mine…yes again…this time really lost it) from my dad’s fren from Btu
- tried to study but jus no mood
- resuscitated my blog..hehe
(Uni's starting...jus sick of it..)
Pachelbel's canon in D. Was just reading someone's blog and saw all these pachelbel video clips. I guess everyone would have heard it before but shouldn't we be sick of it now? Go youtube 'pachelbel rant' and you'll notice there's a lot of songs which uses the same chord. I am already sick of guang liang's tong hua but not pachelbel's canon..weird huh? ok maybe just not time yet...
(that was random...)
Cats were my pets. Had two very cute ones. They play with each other, running around, and did other stuff. One's purple and the other one was blue. One thing i hated was their 'jealousness'. Whenever i feed one of them, the other one would be staring and growling at the cat which i was feeding. I mean, wth, you'll still be fed even though you are not the first one. So what if you are not the first to know or do in everything? You'll still get the same result- get fed by me. Next time they do it, i'll just starve them...muahahaha
(Ok, i didn't have a cat...but it will nice to have

Happy New Year!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, ok. I have been neglecting my blog, mainly because of the fact that my internet is slow (as in REALLY slow, compared to the internet in the Canning College library) and I am kind of busy with my future -uni stuff. And as they say, 休息是为了走更长远的路(literally translated to ‘to rest is to walk a longer road’), so I should be resting…lol. Ok, fine. I am just plain lazy to blog. Actually I have all the idea ready in my mind but just, u know, lazy.
So, since today is the first day of 2007, I’ve made a certain amount of (read:big) effort to blog. First thing first, my life after I came back from Perth? Not really interesting. Sleep until quite late, watch some tv series, eat, occasionally going out with frens, organizing my laptop (still)…boring huh? But no cleaning, cooking, washing ...i dont mind being bored..
Well, it has been really busy for me for the past few weeks, waiting and worrying about the letters of offer which arrive REALLY late (two weeks later than other ppl). Made me worry like hell. I am also debating with myself which course to take next, i mean, this year. I just can't understand why other people decide just like that *pluck fingers* and I am still deciding after all this while...I guess I just think too much..haih
I also won’t be blogging for at least two weeks because I will be going to Perth for an interview. Yups I’m going back to Perth where most of my friends will NOT be at and I got an interview for medicine and dentistry. Woohoo!! ..=.='''...Second reason is that I would have to wait until my laptop is repaired. The stupid USB port burnt a few days before I came back when I tried to connect the camera to transfer some photos…L…
So, meanwhile I’ll writing my post on my com and post it whenever I have the chance. There will be interesting posts coming up very soon, including: a fashion show, a sequel to my post on working and the long delayed (and delayed) PWH music awards coverage…and later today I will be going to see a procession in the town centre. Hopefully I’ll get some good photos ;)
Happy New Year !!
and may God bless you with wonders in this new year!!

Friends
Urban dictionary, being an up-to-date, user friendly online dictionary and providing different meanings and examples on how to use the word, was my source of reference. This was what i learnt today.
FRIENDS:
People who are aware of how retarded you are and still manage to be seen in public with you. people who make you laugh till you pee your pants. people who cry for you when one of your special items disappear. when you dont have enough money to get a ice cream, they chip in. knows all of your internet passwords. who would never make you cry just to be mean.
I think I have a lot of friends that would fit this perfectly.
Friends are peeps you can trust and take advice from.
its ok im here for you dont cry
this is a long one...
Friends are those who are continously there for support when it is needed... ones that will even though dislike you significant, will sit there and talk to them juss for the sake of pleasing you and making you happy due to seeing them both in the same room... also people that will drive across the island after a long day of work cause you called them crying hysterically cause you found out your other half was cheating... and also the ones that will no matter what they've told you in the past about you current and you didnt believe they will never say I TOLD YOU SO when you find out, although its itching to come out... the ones that will take the blame that you needed to put on sum one beside yourself and your half, for you depression and suicidal modes that you tend to go through... basically friends are juss a phone call away, and are more like family...
juss ask and i'll pull through, cause isnt that what friends are all about?
weird ones starts to come up
The TV show which started a billion different hair style trends
"Can I have the same hair style as that girl in Friends?"
"Which one?"
"Um, I think she's called Rachel."
"No, I meant which style?"
Word used as a gentle attempt to either turn someone down, or break up with a current relationship. As in these famous examples:
"I just wanna be friends"
"I like you as a friend"
"Could we still be friends?"
v1. To dump someone's ass casually.
v2. To give someone the friends
Evan: So, how's it going with her?
Karl: Ohh, she gave me the friends last night.
Evan: Shit, sorry to hear that.
Like fiend without the r
read the definition ^
The bastards that cause peer pressure
aw f*** its my friends that made me eat that dam burrito
A category of definition on urbandictionary.com. When you try to define a word, it asks you to pick a category, and one of the categories is 'friends'. Logically, you would think this would be the place to talk about your friends. However, just about every entry like that is deleted by someone who says 'urbandictionary is not a personal message board'. If it's not a personal message board, then why does this category even exist!?!?!?!
I think I'll talk about Chris under 'friends'. WHat, it's been deleted!? Damn you, urbandictionary, and your deceptive ways!!!!!
Friends are ppl who dont go off with members of the opposite sex and forget u exist......
Gal 1- "ooh hes fit....byee"
Gal 2- (says nothin because her 'friend'has already ran off)
Will only disappoint and let you down.
After you ask your friend for help, he makes some bs excuse not too, you shake your head, shrug your shoulders and mumble, "friends"...... ..
Man, english is hard!!! Just one word but so many meanings...
And i miss my friends ...(not theTV show, not those who will dissapoint you nor the bastard who causes peer pressure and not the fiend with the 'r')

time travellin'
A few of the public members have been asked to comment on this issue and these are their views:
Have you heard of daylight savings? What do you think about it?
"I don't knoi anything about this. Where can I save them? What is the interest rate?"-anonymous businessman
"F*** off"- anonymous gangster
"Yes, i've heard about it. I think it's a smart way in improve our current economic state"- anonymous economist
"Yes, I heard of it. But I'm totally against it because that would mean that my kid would have to study longer in school and worse still, my curtains would be faded because of the sunlight. My husband would have to work longer hours because he would have to start at 8.00am which is the original 7.00am until 5.00pm (editor: which the original 4.00pm, so no increase). But thank God they pay him by hour."-anonymous housewife
"Really?Oh yeah, i think i heard of it. They shift your time one hour ahead everyday, which means that you have 23 hours in a day. Wait, then that's unfair because you lose one hour everyday. No, is it gain or lose? Yeah it's lose. So everyday you lose (mumble to herself: 24 minus 23...) one hour. So one month you lose 50 hours (editor's note: should be around 30). That means you grow older faster. I don't want that!!"- anonymous blondie
"Ya... I know it. But i dont like it loh...cos u know ahh...is very confusing u know? Haf to change eveliting...like my watch loh, my computer loh, my handfon loh, my PDA loh...very mahuan (troublesome) ahh...aiyo, soli ahh, i m late liao becos of this sunlight saving thing loh... daylight saving ahh...paiseh (loosely translated to 'so embarrassing') ahh...make me one hour behind...so i haf to go now... thang you ahh... my name is XXX (protected)....remember my name ahh... i will buy your newspaper one... "-anonymous tourist
Just like ten years ago when daylight savings was introduced in WA, there were mixed reactions towards this issue. There were some who supported it, some who didn't and most of them had no idea what it is about. Let's hope that the next time when daylight savings is re-introduced, most of them would have a better and brighter idea on what it is about.

working
(and the hour hand on the clock turns …round and round…back to the past)
It all started on Thursday. Brandon and I went to Northbridge to look for my work. So kind of him. So we walk around and saw a few notices. But sadly, THEY WERE ALL CLOSED!!! Well most of them anyway. I didn’t know restaurants are closed on Thursday before. So, on Friday, I went to Northbridge alone for walk-in interviews. I left my name and phone numbers in quite a few restaurants, like Oriental, James St. Kitchen, some weird chicken rice shop (I was desperate). I went to Jade restaurant(皇朝), you know, the high-class, grand-looking restaurant. I told what I wanted and they immediately asked me to come the next day for training. This proves two things:
i) they are really short of manpower
ii) they are smart enough to not lose someone like me to some other restaurants
The unnoticed notice - 'Hiring waitRESS only' and i went in
Anyway, that evening around 5 something, I received a call asking me to tryout at 5.45pm. I was like, ‘what the hell, I am 10kms away from the city centre (I was at Cottlesloe)’. But since I need a job real bad, I told her I would go. But, in the end I still called her and said I can’t make it. Thank god I still can go try out on Saturday.
Saturday morning. I was late for my first work. I was a few minutes late and end up having to wait more than 20 minutes for the next bus. Bad start. I got there at around 11 (suppose to be there at 10.30) and starting learning all sort of stuff. Some of the stuff are:
i) how to hold four plates with bowl, teacup and saucepan on each plate on one hand and look fancy
ii) how to stack eights plates, bowls, saucepans, teacups along one arm and walk around and look professional
iii) how set a proper table for four, six and eight people even though no-one really care if the cross on the table cloth is pointing towards the door or not
James St. Kitchen
One interesting things I learnt was how to set the table for a Vietnamese wedding dinner. They put the settings on one table, put another piece of round wooden planks and put on the settings. They would stack up quite a few layers and when it’s time, they would ‘fly’ the table tops together with the settings to individual tables, and you will get a table for ten people. Cool huh?
After eating crappy food as lunch at around 4pm, I went to the state library. Not to study, you dumb. I cleaned up refreshed myself and went to the first floor to sleep.
Sofa where i rested
At 5.45pm, I went to James St. Kitchen(红屋小厨)I had my dinner at around 6pm. I didn’t eat much coz it was a bit too early and I just ate my lunch. The working environment here was better. The workers and the boss was better than those in Jade. I guess in Jade everyone’s too busy working and pressured. The first day in james, I got to eat fish, tofu and some other thing which I forgot. I also got a glass of iced milk tea. There so much stuff I had to learn:
i) Check on the prawns, crabs and fish and how to catch them.
ii) How to set the table (same-a lot of bunga-bunga)
iii) What to prepare when customer eat fried dimsum, steamed dimsum or soup as dimsum
iv) what to prepare when customers eat crab or prawn (finger bowl-to wash hands, plates to put the shell, a spatula kind of thing- to korek our the meat, a nut craker-or in this case a crab/prawn cracker)
v) how to scoop rice, noodle, or other expensive food (so my ‘si zay’-a very experienced lady says) using spoon and fork as thongs in one hand
vi) how to clean the table and stuff every plate, bowl, cup on one big plate and bring it away at one go even though you can do it separately
Bad demo- needs more practising
There was one thing I learnt, well not really, just that I never realize it was that important. Try to do as much as possible at one go. Get as much stuff as possible out (as in out from the counter) at one go (dishes, plates…), do as much stuff as possible before you come back (ask anything-refill teapot, change plates) bring as much stuff back as possible (empty plates, teapots, dirty tablecloth…).
Jade dynasty
Working in Chinese restaurants are quite fun. You call the chefs ‘sifu’ or ‘X go’ (Brother X). You call any lady in the kitchen ‘X zay’ (sister X). They call me all sort of name coz they still haven’t really know my name: ‘Ah zai’ (boy), ‘leng zai’ (handsome boy- a bit skeptical about that), or ah long (my name), david (my working name) for those who know me better.
All in all it was a pleasant experience undergoing training in these two restaurants even though I don’t get paid at all during training and when I start working, I will still get low pay. Well at least next year I can say I have working experience. Oklah. I guess I stop here. Will definitely blog more about my nightmare jobs.

my second post
I am still thinking whether to tell the whole world about my blog…or just remain anonymous and let strangers to just stumble upon my blog and hope that they would continue reading it…
Actually why do ppl want to blog…it’s just a diary on the internet for public viewing…why let everyone know about your secrets or what you have been doing during the last 24 hours...are we in that much need of attention?...i guess when you blog you hope ppl would know more about you and this would, like one of my frens puts it ‘fill in the gap between you and your fren’ …well, who cares, it’s a source of entertainment for me (notice how boring I am)…and it’s good reading material…
So, I hereby end my second post and happy one week belated birthday to me!!
