one litre of tears

Boring post ahead...

A good idea would to load the video below first...

Jus watched a Japanese series- one litre of tears. It’s a true story based on the diary of girl who had spinocerebellar degenerative disease. Really made me realize how lucky we actually are being healthy and all. I can’t even bare to imagine what would happen if this were to happen to me. The problem with some these diseases is that they just come out of no where, without any warning, without any reason. It’s not because you did something unhealthy (like bad eating habits or lifestyle). It just chooses you because it can. The worse of all, some are incurable meaning that you know you will die soon. We all will die, that’s a fact. But getting a disease like that is just totally different. It’s as if your future has all been set out. You can see the limit of your live and you know you will die thus living a ‘dead’ live which some might even consider not worth living at all. We live now without thinking about dying, not knowing when we will die, living a ‘live’ life. There are numerous diseases of this nature. Some of the common ones are cancer, AIDS, and other genetical diseases. What’s so terrible about spinocerebellar degenerative disease is that, the brain cells starts to die off, and the patient starts to lose all control- speech, walking, eating, balance, writing…it’s like your body starts to die before you die. I know sounds stupid but the only thing left is your state of awareness that you are in fact alive even though you can’t do anything at all as if you are dead. The pain doesn’t end there. What about your family& friends? They would be equally heart-broken, feeling helpless. Would they be embarrassed? What about love? Her dreams of getting married with the boy she is in love with WILL NOT come true. Not being able to play sports, being labeled 'disabled' etc. All of these are portrayed in the series. Some say it’s one of the most depressing jap series. You’ll really cry buckets of tears.
